How we handle your data

Last updated: 9 July 2026

This is the plain-English version of how CreatorScope treats your data. If you want the full legal detail, the Privacy Policy has it — this page explains it like a human.

What we access, and why

Just three things:

  • Your account info — email and a hashed password so you can sign in, and an optional display name. That's it.
  • The content you create — your ideas, scripts, projects, tasks, notes, thumbnails, and brand files. Stored so the app can show them back to you and only you.
  • Your YouTube analytics, read-only — only if you choose to connect YouTube. We can see your channel and video stats to show you performance and insights. We cannot post, edit, delete, or change anything on your channel.

How AI is used

CreatorScope uses AI for a few specific things: content-health scoring, thumbnail feedback, script and caption help, and answering questions about your own numbers. Here's exactly how that works — no vague promises.

  • Never used to train AI. The AI features run on Anthropic's and OpenAI's business APIs. Under those terms, your content is never used to train their models — that's not a setting we toggle, it's built in by default.
  • We only send what a feature needs. Thumbnail critique gets the thumbnail and the title. A question about a video gets that video's stats plus your channel averages. A few features look wider on purpose — "What's working for you" reviews your whole catalogue to spot patterns, and shoot planning and equipment tools include your full gear list. We tell you before you use them.
  • Your raw videos never leave. We never send your actual video files to any AI. The AI only ever sees text and, for thumbnail feedback, the thumbnail image.
  • Not kept unless you save it. AI responses appear in the app and disappear unless you save them (like saving a script or an analysis). The one exception is your daily content-health score, which we store so you can track it over time — and that score is built from counts and numbers, not your titles or scripts.
  • Read-aloud runs entirely in your browser. The text-to-speech that reads scripts and ideas out loud uses your browser's own speech engine. That text never leaves your device at all.

Who we work with (subprocessors)

We only share data with the providers we need to run the app:

  • Supabase — database, login, and file storage.
  • Vercel — hosting.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI — AI features (text prompts, thumbnail images) and voice-note transcription. Business terms; your content is never used to train their models.
  • Google / YouTube — read-only analytics for the channel you connect. Reads only, no writes.
  • Resend — sends our own notification emails (for example, alerting Solomon when someone requests access).

Where your data lives

Your data is stored securely with Supabase and Vercel. Files you upload sit in access-controlled storage scoped to your account, so nothing is ever public by accident.

Delete everything, yourself, instantly

You don't have to email us or wait.

Go to Settings → Delete account, confirm, and everything — your content, your files, your account — is permanently erased in seconds. We even revoke your YouTube connection automatically on the way out.

It's your data; you hold the button.

Disconnect YouTube anytime

Open Settings and hit Disconnect on the YouTube panel. Our access is removed immediately, both in our database and at Google's end.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK data protection law, you can:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that's wrong.
  • Delete your data — the button above is your right to erasure, and it's instant.
  • Object to certain processing, or withdraw consent (for example, by disconnecting YouTube).
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

For access or correction, email us. Deletion is self-serve.

Security

We take protecting your data seriously — encrypted connections, strict access controls so no user can ever see another user's data, and regular security testing. No system is completely secure, but we do the work.
